removing extension/plug in photoshop cc

Okay, this can't exist as hard as I'm making it, I've installed 2 unlike extensions/plugins/panels whatsoever yous want to call them in photoshop CC, I encounter zilch in the downloaded zip files to uninstall them, nada in photoshop to install them, I come across dozens of conflicting information on the web, from downloading 3rd party extension managers to doing things that don't seem uniform today, what gives? How do you remove an extension from photoshop CC??????

I think you just go to the Plugin binder and delete the ones you don't want.

Re: removing extension/plug in photoshop cc

As in windows explorer, find folder delete files? Seems a fleck odd in 2018 with such a robust program to practise that manually, with no means of deleting them through the program itself? Non saying you lot're wrong, I don't know either, there are so many different conflicting replies on the internet in regard to this I'chiliad in disbelief.

Well, why don't you lot tell the states all how Adobe can perhaps know exactly which plug-ins whatever of u.s.a. determine to use and how they would be installed by the 3rd party provider and how Adobe would know exactly what needed to be washed to uninstall them? And why would Adobe spend time and coin developing software to cover every possible plug-in and add that to Photoshop?  I think it's unfair to arraign Adobe for the shortcomings of the 3rd-political party providers.

You don't say which version of Windows you are using, nor do you say which plug-in you want to remove.

Nevertheless, in Win 10, the photoshop plug-ins are in C:/Prorgam Files/Mutual Files/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CC. It'southward a elementary task to delete files.

Alternatively, you can utilise the Windows Search facility to search for *.8bf files on your computer. Delete every bit required.

Promise you experience ameliorate for having your bluster.

Re: removing extension/plug in photoshop cc

Then looking in the Plug-ins folder it is empty.

Adobe forum says to use Adobeexchange.com my exchange, just no extensions are listed in my business relationship.

Downloaded a 3rd party extension manager, it finds one of the ii extensions allows me to remove ane of them, but when you restart photoshop, information technology's back again.

Following that path leads only to a Photographic camera Raw plug-in and cipher else.

Searching for .8bf files yields just these results a number of these- don't look like they are anywhere associated with a plug-in folder

Hope you lot feel improve for having your rant.

I don't believe there is any ranting going on, just if that makes your day then exist it. Simply trying to remove these extensions.

Since you asked, I would presume that since Adobe owns the software and they allow non-adobe plug-ins to be installed they themselves so controlled/command the method to allow 3rd parties to install plugins. The plugins may all exist different, but Adobe'south software needs to manage them, therefore control where they are, how they are installed, where they are installed. Don't run into that equally a stretch to control the install to control the removal. You human activity as if plugins can just be installed willy nilly anywhere in the software without Adobe having decided how and where they would be allowed to exist installed, how their software would interact with information technology. I don't think that's the case.

'Adobe Extension Manager' may show the extensions you have added – depending on the method you chose to install them initially - and has a button marked "Remove", why not open it and meet if this solves whatever of the problems for you

This software is not on my computer, and then I will download the Adobe Extension manager and run into what it does, unfortuanately I see on the downwards load page this message already...

"The Extension Manager only displays extensions that were installed with the Extension Manager application or with Extension Managing director commands from the command line. Extensions that are installed using a third-party installer or local changes made to your configuration files do not appear in the Extension Managing director."

One of these was installed with a ZXP installer program that came with information technology.

Will see what it finds...

Re: removing extension/plug in photoshop cc

Nope, shows nothing.

I accept emailed both of these photographers most their plugins asking for uninstallation instructions. A little miffed at present at this point that they don't include any uninstall data. I wrongly assumed that none was needed because information technology must exist an obvious simple process through photoshop to remove an extension.

Unless I'm totally making this harder than information technology needs to be, it looks like I volition demand to wait and see what they say.

Sorry to ask the obvious, merely as there was an installer involved, did it not create an uninstall entry in "Control Panel" > "Programs and Features"?

Re: removing extension/plug in photoshop cc

Both photographers got back to me very quickly with instructions to remove their panels/plugins

Both involved downloading a file and one involved watching a video, both used a combination of photoshopCC to uninstall and manually deleting files using windows explorer.

Here are the instructions from one of them

  • Download the JSXBIN uninstall script and run it by going to File/Scripts/Scan in Photoshop. If you are on an older version of Photoshop, be sure to alter the file filter in Photoshop to evidence JSXBIN files. This volition offer options to remove panels from Greg Benz.
  • Run the JSXBIN installer that comes with Lumenzia and choose "show panel folder". This will open a new window where exension panels are installed for that version of Photoshop. Just delete the com._____.ext folders relevant to the panel you wish to remove. You may simply motility them to another location if you want the power restore later. Panels are removed from Photoshop if they are not in the proper folder.

All I will say is I will exist very wary installing any plugins from photoshop not using Adobe Exchange, or at least have a criteria of annihilation installed must come with uninstall instructions. The fact that both of these extremely well known photographers plugins took this much effort to uninstall and they avert anywhere hands constitute to include instructions to uninstall is total bullsh*t in my book and lesson learned.
